Gairik is a multi-category platform — ecommerce, property, motors, jobs, astrology consultations, and bill payments operating under one roof in Kolkata. Building something that wide takes people who are comfortable with scope and who do not wait to be told what needs attention. The team is small relative to what the platform covers. That is not a disclaimer — it is the reason the work here has actual weight to it.
Accessing various Open Roles
Our hiring process opens up at various times, and so those willing to apply are requested to look into the Job section of our website, where hiring status will be given at various times, and they are also advised to look into the upcoming news of job listing programs. Again, the positions open up without much notice across product, operations, vendor relations, customer support, and tech. What does the work actually involve?
The platform covers enough ground that people here rarely stay inside a single function for long. Vendor onboarding, compliance checks, payment flows, listing quality, support escalations — at our current size, these sit close enough together that most people end up involved in more than one.
Why does this happen?
That happens naturally, not because it is written into a job description. We are direct about performance — when something is working and when it is not. If that suits you, it usually becomes clear within the first few weeks.
Internships and early-career:
We take interns across operations, marketing, and platform support — typically for two to three-month engagements. Most of the interns who have come through here were figuring out which direction they wanted to go professionally, and that is fine. What we ask for is that you show up prepared to do actual work, not shadow someone through a series of orientation meetings.
Compensation and Role Variable:
Salaries are benchmarked against current market rates for Kolkata-based roles in each function. We do not lowball on compensation and then make up for it with perks, and the base is what it needs to be, and we are transparent about the range before any interview goes too far.
Beyond pay:
The platform gives you exposure to category types — retail, property, financial services, professional services — that most single-product companies cannot. That breadth will always incorporate a practical value if your vision for your career includes “product, operations, or general management”. Various flexible arrangements of work validly available to every category of role, as well as teams out there. These work according to the hiring of various and valid hiring managers rather than being dictated by “a blanket policy”.
